DIY: Home Remedy for Acne Scars

I have been MIA for quite a while and I am still adapting to my new schedule with work and school going on. But hopefully, I will get to post more often from now on.

I know this is a week late post but anyway, I hope you're still interested in this one. This is going to be a really long post but I hope you read through the end. :)

I have always battled with acne ever since I was 12 years old. Yes, young as I was back then puberty was already striking me so bad. A decade after, I still have breakouts but on a lower intensity and I am left with those nasty acne marks. Acne marks fade on their own in time but in my experience 6 months to a year is far too long. I found this recipe on youtube due to my unending search on how to fade acne scars faster. I am very skeptical when it comes to going to the dermatologist and I have always believed that God created all the answers to our problems and that is through nature. Enough of the long intro and let's get cooking!

So here are the things that you'll need.
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 8 tablespoons of sugar, preferably white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Honey
  • 3 tablespoons of Tea, preferably green tea
On a plastic bowl pour 1 tablespoon of apple cider vingar. I got mine at Healthy Options but I already forgot how much it was. This works by removing dead skin cells and restoring pH level of your skin to accumulate less bacteria.
Then add 3 tablespoons of cooled green tea. I have no idea where my mom got this tea but green tea is readily available at any local grocery store. Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties. Acne scars are inflammation on our skin and green tea helps to soothe and calm inflammation.
Add 5 tablespoons of sugar. Mix well. And then add 1 tablespoon of Honey. Sugar helps remove dead skin cells and restores a healthy glow on your face whereas, honey has anti-bacterial properties that help fight against bacteria that clogs up your pores.
Mix all the ingredients really well. Then add another 3 tablespoons of sugar. Mix, mix, mix! And tadahh! Your home made facial mask for acne scars. It smells like garabage though but it helped me lighten my acne scars after using ut 2-3 times a week in one month. You'll also notice a glow on your skin after using this. Apply this to your face, massage on your face for about 5 minutes then leave on for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water.
Mine looked brownish-blackish because I used Muscovado sugar instead of white sugar. You can use any type of sugar you want. After about a month's time of religiously using this, you will notice lightenin of those red marks. Yehey! :)

Ok, on to the next topic. As you may have noticed I changed the name of my blog and my url. There's nothing very special behind it, it's just that: 1.) I got tired of my old blog name. I always get tired of something so easily even my blog name. I don't know, I guess Im just inconsistent like that; and, 2.) Someone doesn't want me using the name jenny so I had to change everything in this blog associated with that name. This is a very private matter that I prefer not to disclose here. Sorry...:(

And lastly, I really wanted to do an outfit post again for the longest time now. And today I was able to take a shot of what I wore to school. It was hardly raining when I went out of the house but just when I was about to go home, rain won't go away. So here is what I wore for a rainy day here in the Philippines.

Personally, I prefer to wear tights and dresses/skirts/shorts even though it's raining. I am not a jeans person in general and I especially hate wearing them on rainy days. I don't like the thought of my hemline all dirty and wet and harboring bacteria and viruses.

So here is my post again after being MIA for quite a while. Help me welcome myself back! :D
