From Scarf to Turban

It's been a while since I blogged about anything. I got caught up with client requests for feather earrings, work and school. So here is my last post for the month!

I love turbans but sadly I can't find one that has cute prints on it and with some quirky embellishments as well. Most turbans I see are simple, plain wraps but what I want is a full blown one that has a cute print. I saw this video tutorial from thefashioncitizen on youtube a few weeks ago and thank God I have a really cute printed scarf to turn into a full blown turban. All you need is a square shaped scarf of your choice and follow the steps below. :D

Step #1. Fold the scarf into half and form a triangle

Step #2. Place it over your head with the tip of the triangle facing where your face is as shown below

Step #3. Pull the ends together in the middle and twist it once

Step #4. Twist it twice

Step #5. Pull the ends to the back of your head and tie the ends into a knot twice to secure

Step #6. Tuck in all loose ends inside

Step #7. Tuck inside the ends in front

Step #8. Do a few adjustments for better fit and you now have your full blown turban using your scarf!

I like adding a bit of jazz to my turban so i pinned this silver brooch in front.

And for the entire outfit...

Envy Me! I Wear Gucci

I just wanted to share with all of you how much I really adore this perfume. Definitely my favorite perfume of all time. The scent is very floral and girly. I personally adore anything that smells floral, fresh and reminds me of Spring which we really don't experience here the Philippines. Nonetheless, the scent reminds me of blooming flowers and the fresh breeze of Spring. If you like floral scents that are just light on the nose, check out Gucci Envy Me. This is not a new scent as I had my very first bottle of this back in high school and is part of their permanent line. 6 months ago, the 100ml bottle retails for 5,000+ Php. Now, I'm not really sure as this new bottle I have I got from a friend. :)

Look at my pimples...haha! Have a great weekend! :D

Mixing and Matching

It used to be a fashion no-no to mix gold and silver pieces together. But that fashion rule has continuously been broken by many and this fall, it is actually one of the many trends people are daring to wear. I am very skeptical about mixing gold and silver together as I am not used to seeing so many metals together. SO for beginner mixers like I, here are some tips for you to gradually start incorporating the two without going crazy. :)

Tip #1: If you like wearing a watch, match the metal of your watch with the metal you wuld like to wear. If your watch has gold metal details to it wear gold accessories on the same hand like gold bracelets perhaps or rings.

Tip #2: Keep all metals in near proximity in the same color. This way you can mix silver and gold in a more subtle way. One arm silver, on the other gold.

Tip #3: If you are not daring enough yet, keep as far away from each other your golds and silver. If you want to wear gold earrings wear a silver bracelet instead of a silver necklace as your wrist is located farther than your neck.

If you are like me who is not that daring enough yet to mix metals and is still experimenting, these  tips are the start to incorporating metals together. Hope these tips helped all of you start mixing and matching. :)

Product Review: Etude House Baby Skin Base

Some of you may already know that I am totally addicted to Etude House. I am never a fan of buying expensive make up and skin care products but I am also not one who would settle for something very cheap yet very damaging products as well. Ever since I discovered Etude House I have already been hooked and can't stop myself from buying their products. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the brand, Etude House is a Korean brand of cosmetics and skin care now also having hair care products that treat all of their customers as Princesses and Princes without having to spend too much money. You get royalty treatment at an affordable price. One of my favorite products from them is the Etude House Baby Skin base. It is a make up base that claims to hold your make up together for longer hours. Having very oily skin, I thought I needed this product to prevent smudging and wearing off make up.

Priced at Php398 I am in love with this product. Many people are put-off by green face primers but for someone who is acne prone and with some active blemishes like I do, this will save you lots of time. You don't have to pile up on concealers anymore as it can cover most blemishes already. It acts both as a concealer and face primer. You get the goodness of both in one product. One bottle goes a really, really long way. I bought this bottle last February and as you can see I still have about half of it. I use this 5 times a week since then. All you need is a small pea size and it can already cover your entire face.
The only downside to this is that it can make your face really pale and white upon application so I recommend using this with a foundation or bb cream a shade darker than yours to counteract the whiteness or if you like bronzers, you can also use them. But for me, it works best with my Etude House Precious Minerals BB cream. As for holding your make up together I can't really tell the difference. I feel like it does sometimes but not every time. I sweat like hell on those other times so I guess that's why. :D

Sorry that I cannot really post a picture for comparison. As you can see my camera can't really pick up that much colors and cannot focus in close range. I need to get a new camera soon! :D

Now, It's Officially Over

Thank God a week of having gloomy days is officially over! I am so happy to finally see Mr. Sunshine radiating with happy hormones and making my skin actively produce melanin. It may have rained early this morning but around 9AM...hello there, sunshine. It's so nice to finally see you again. I do like gloomy days...windy, cloudy and with a few rain showers but having it for more than 3 days can be quite tiresome. Happy hormones...welcome back.
