Nostalgia in the Uplands

It's already been a week but I can still feel the cool mountain breeze and the sound of the streets of Baguio. That place will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I once lived in that city due to studies. It's been five years already since I left that place but I can still vividly picture special memories I shared with that place. I used to frequent the night markets and walk around the city without feeling tired and just savoring every moment of it.

February is definitely the month to come visit this upland city because of the Flower Festival. Although the parade happens during the last week, the celebration is felt all month long. The night market is a must visit but if you are not fond of thrifted items such as clothing, bags, and shoes you might not like it. But there are handmade accessories you can check out that are brand new so there is still something you can find there. There are tons of people in the night market too so beware of your things.
Okay so enough reminiscing and cheesiness. These pictures were taken at Camp John Hay. It never fails to surprise me when people tell me they haven't been to Baguio yet (I am talking about people who have lived here in the Philippines all their lives yet they haven't explored such beautiful place until now). I mean, most people have already gone out of the country but why skip exploring your very own country. I sound so nationalistic, do I? haha! Well, I can't blame most of them. Baguio nowadays doesn't seem to be as beautiful as it was before. With the calamities that we often hear about and the continuous spread of high-rise establishments, it is no wonder why the city is starting to lose its charm.
I am not really fond of going to the beach. I am more of a winter person thus I really enjoy cold places and mountainous areas where I can enjoy the low temperature and the greenery that is nature. Baguio will forever be my number one destination if I want to relax a bit and enjoy the cold weather (even if my allergic rhinitis attacks really badly). I can't wait to go back there again. So long Baguio... :)
How did your weekend go? Any plans for tomorrow? Happy weekend everyone! :)

  10. aw I am defs a mountain/greenery-loving person too. My dream holiday would be at a lodge in the mountains (no camping- dislike) with a running stream and soft ferns.. okay I'm rambling. The colour of the scarf really complements your peaches + cream complexion! x
