Cruel Intentions

More than two months and I think I'm back...I think...

I don't want to promise anything because I hate breaking promises and I might break promising to post more regularly. I thank those who still visit and visited my blog despite my hiatus because you gave me page views! Thank you for that. :)

I actually have no idea where to begin because it's been so long since I did this. I have read many bloggers say that it is hard to get back once you stop blogging. Before, I will instantly dismiss that argument but now, I guess I agree. I want to make a blog overhaul so expect some changes around here starting with this post. I hope you prefer a bunch of text more than a bunch of pictures because I fear that is going to happen more often now. And, as you all know and probably observe, I am a crappy photographer. I prefer taking self-portraits than obliging someone to take them for me (it makes me feel too self-conscious). And writing is what I THINK I am good at so this is what I will be doing more often. I will stop pretending to take great pictures because I can't. I will start writing more often because I CAN.

Some of you might be thinking 'why the title?' Intentions....this is something that can easily be camouflaged and hidden with a different facade. Some people may appear with positive intentions when actually they have cruel intentions inside.

I was rereading the Hunger Games last night and it got me thinking: Katniss had always doubted Peeta's intention towards her. Being friendly is just a facade masking ill intentions of how he is going to kill her when the games begin. In the book, Peeta's facade was true after all. But in real life it can be the former. I haven't read the other books yet, so no spoilers please! :)

Such incident happens in real life. People being friendly towards you but deep inside they want to kill you. Whether it is physically killing you or emotionally or even mentally. You can die a thousand deaths in a thousand different ways. And it's not just you who can be killed but relationships as well. You can be killed by someone who can appear friendly and positive towards you but deep inside he/she has cruel intentions. Expect betrayal and back stabbing. Expect relationships broken and people lost. If you don't know how to handle such situations, expect depression and frustration.

Starting this blog, I admit I have every cruel intentions of taking advantage of it. I wanted to be the number one blog in the world. I wanted to be the most fashionable person in the world. In summation, I want to take over the world of fashion. I believe that there is nothing wrong with dreaming big. What's wrong is when you start stepping on people just to achieve that goal. What's wrong is when you betray people, stab them in their backs and using them for your own goal. Don't get me wrong I never did any of that since I am not affiliated with anyone in the blog-o-sphere. I am but a mere third party observer. But don't you feel sad when you hear such stories? I know, they are just stories and I have no way to corroborate. But the fact that a story exists means it must have come from somewhere. Whether there is a concrete foundation for such a story, I'll never know.

If you follow many local fashion blogs here in the Philippines, you might already be aware of the on-going blogger war. Just a disclaimer, I am not affiliated to any of the parties involved. As stated above, I am but a mere third party observer. I follow a handful of fashion blogs especially local ones here in the Philippines. I admire many of them who constantly take risks with their choices of clothing and mostly because they are not afraid to show the world their personal style. They are not afraid to show the world that the Philippines, despite being a developing country with a bunch of internal and external issues, can be fashionable too. I admire a lot of them so knowing about this blogger war is truly saddening.

I actually admire bloggers and youtube vloggers because I believe that they have a harmonious community. I once believed that these communities are far from the entertainment industry wherein crab mentality, jealousy and back stabbing is common news. It's sad to know that bloggers too, have cruel intentions towards each other.

If I am just a third party observer, why am I so affected?

The blogging community is rooted on humble beginnings. People having a platform to chronicle their daily outfits, people finally having an outlet to show the world their passion, and people finally having a community that understands and shares their passion. I have followed a bunch of blogs since 2009 and I have looked up to many of them since then. When I finally had the time to make my own and decide to join the community last year, I was glad I did. I was happy to find a community who understands the same love for clothes as I do because truth be told, most of my friends don't. But hearing this, it made me think if this is still a community that I want to associate myself with. Do I still want to belong to a community that is starting to become hostile?

I may be sensationalizing but as a newbie, it scares me to think that things as such can happen. Who knows, I might be the next victim or even the perpetrator. I'm scared of being hated and I’m scared to hate. But this proves that hostility can exist anywhere. Virtually and physically, evil things can happen. If you are not tenacious enough nothing will be left of you.

Or maybe, I had high expectations from these bloggers that the disappointment I felt was my own undoing.

Or maybe, I live in this blogging fairy tale world of mine where bloggers exist in harmony when in reality they don't.

To those involved in the incident, I pray that everything gets better for all of you. Was hurt or have hurt - it doesn't matter. I just pray to God that you all be enlightened and make this community better again.

Again, I am not affiliated to any blogger that exists. This is an outsider's opinion of what is happening. I am not taking sides because I don't know the entire story. You can call me a loner when it comes to blogging. I think I prefer it that way...at least for now. I still want to blog and share my thoughts as well as to meet other bloggers - even if it's just virtually. I am not losing hope in the community and I pray for things to get better soon.

On a lighter note, I have two very comfy outfit posts to show all of you.

chambray button-down: Topman | lace dress: thrifted | sneakers: Ked's | clutch: gifted
Outfit for a very lazy dinner party with some of my friends. I wore this last June-ish right before my best friend's classes started. I was very tired from working so hard that day so I opted to wear something super comfy. We actually called this "just eff'd up outfit." I don't know what you think about this outfit but when I went to the lavatory, I realized I look like I was just eff'd up! I mean, my button-down is certainly menswear; my dress looked like a nightgown because it's short and made of lace; my hair is unruly and uncooperative and looks like I just woke up. Nevertheless, I liked how this outfit turned out.

top: from mom | skirt: Bangkok | sneakers: Ked's
This was a shopping outfit I wore last June-ish as well. Nothing special, just a comfy outfit for a very tiring money-spending-feet-aching-eyes-widening-unhappy-wallet day for me. :)

I know, I am neither the best writer nor am I very eloquent in relating what's inside my brain. But writing will forever hold a special place in my heart and I want to start taking this blog more seriously now. Hence more lengthy posts! :)

No haters, please! But I am very much open to constructive criticism.

I will stop pretending I can take pictures because it is palpable I can't. I believe I can write more than I can click the shutter. I hope you still visit my blog despite the length in writing. I know some people won't get past the second paragraph but....oh, well. I guess I have to do better to keep you interested. :)

Enjoy the rest of the week! :)

    1. I believe so too. Sadly, some bloggers nowadays don't see this as a venue to express themselves anymore. It's business.

Thank you for your comment. :)

    1. I don't know the whole story behind it though because I don't personally know the people involved. I also thought it was unacceptable but then again, it is human nature to fight and it can't be helped. I just hope that they find the inner peace that they are searching for soon. :)

      your most welcome! :)

  7. First of all... I love your sneakers and how you've worn them on two different looks. you rocked both looks!

I didn't know that there's an on-going blogger war. But it saddens me that such exists. Although, I'm quite happy that I am not involved into anything like that and that the bloggers I've come across with are genuinely nice and friendly. I'm glad I've made real friends through blogging and it's just disappointing that while I make friends, some bloggers make enemies. But I hope they can settle the issue soon. The blogging community is really small and it's awkward and tough to get an enemy within your community.

    1. very well said, gellie. I do hope they find their inner peace soon. though, with what I have observed, I don't think things between them are ever going to be the same. When you are hurt it's very hard to forget and relationships are even harder to mend. I just wish for them to be happy instead. :)

  10. oh know, i didn't know about that blogger-war thing, though i often do blog hopping. i know a lot of fashion bloggers who's on top, check the topblogs.com in fashion and beauty category. i haven't read and hear about that thing. how it started? napag-iiwanan ba ako? lol! or maybe they're not that popular in this blogging world kaya they don't care about what other bloggers may say or think... nakakahiya! by the way, keep posting, you're such a good writer!

also, i wanna say thank you for your comment on my blog about what happen to my dad! I really appreciate your words, thank you so much!

    1. Some fashion bloggers who are also very much well-known are not registered on topblogs.com. ;) that's a hint already but I am not here to spill who they are because that would be too much fiddling already. Let's just hope for the best. :)

Also, I hope you are doing well now; with what happened to your dad. My prayers go to you and your family.
