Short Post: Punctuality

I believe in the saying that time is money. Time may not give you any currency but it will cost you a lot of money. For example, in my previous work, there is salary deduction for every succeeding minute after the grace period that you are late. Punctuality is an attitude that I am afraid to admit I lack. I am usually late and I always come up with the lamest excuses whenever I am. Sometimes they are true, but sometimes of course, they aren't (white lies). But ever since I started working, this is an attitude that I have been really trying hard to improve on. I try to sleep early so I can wake up early to avoid being late.

But the thing that prevents me most of the time from being punctual is insomnia. I am not diagnosed but sometimes I find it very difficult to sleep. I wake up in the middle of the night (around 1-2am) and I will never be able to sleep again even if I try really hard. Sometimes I wouldn't be able to sleep at all. This doesn't happen all the time but it usually happens and I really hate it when I lack sleep. I feel cranky, I feel groggy, and my brain fails to function at its best.

So what do I do to help me sleep better and prevent 'insomnia' from attacking?
  • drink water before bedtime
  • sleep and wake up at the same time everyday to adjust my body clock
  • exercise
  • if all else fails, I just pray to God to put me to sleep.

I know this is not really something interesting to read but I do hope you all still did. I am really trying my best to be punctual especially now that I have a corporate job for a month (this is only for a month so there may be lack of posts for the month of August). Hopefully, I come in on time tomorrow. :)

Have a great week ahead!

    1. Yes! I think fresh air really does help. I sometimes go outside for a while too before I sleep and I always get a good night's sleep whenever I do that.

    1. Reading doesn't really help me much. My eyes get tired but my brain is scattered all over the place and my body feels restless. Thank you, Lilli.

  5. Love the dress and the sandals!

I remember during my first month at work - no late and was even super early. But as time goes by, I slacked off and I often use the max amount of late I can have in a month. Or if I cannot afford to be late again, I'd be taking the cab which is a 120PhP worth compared to the normal fare of only barely 50PhP. What a total waste of good money no? So, yeah, I wake up early, put less makeup on and stop procrastinating by saying "five minutes paaaa!" LOL

But in fairness, when I'm going out with my friends ako ang MOST PUNCTUAL and even when K and I go out on our date, I arrive early din. So when I tell him a time na when we will meet up, super inaagahan na rin niya. Hahaha! xD

    1. It's like there is not enough time to sleep and do your job in a day! I've been sleeping better lately so I guess getting tired from working all day helps? haha! I used to stay up really late too because of my computer (Facebook to be exact!). But it's so much fun to surf the web that you never realize what time it is already. It just sucks you in!

    1. We're at the same boat indeed. Even if I tried to sleep early the next day I will sleep late much more when I have an appointment getting me excited that I lose my consciousness and lose track of time.

      Nice dress Jenn :)

    2. @ Shayne: With me, if I sleep too early, I wake up around 3 or 4 in the morning and I will never be able to sleep anymore. It's really frustrating because I feel groggy and lethargic all day! But as the billboard in EDSA says: if you can't sleep, don't count the sheep; talk to the shephered. :)

@Rubie: That happens to me, too! When I am too excited and anxious for an even the next day its very difficult for me to sleep!

    1. I agree! Polka dots is a print that will always look charming on whatever outfit. And yes, I also believe that punctuality is a measure of someone's credibility. It means that you give importance to the appointment and the people involved in that appointment.

  14. I love the dress! I am really bad at being on time too, I always seem to have enough time when I get up, but then all of a sudden I have 5 mins before I need to set off and I'm still in a towel with no makeup on!

    1. Thank you! I can totally relate to you! Even if I want to leave the house on time, most of the time, I really don't. But the one month I spent working really taught me a lot. Fortunately, there were only 2 days when I came in late and it was because of the heavy rain we experienced. In my country, heavy rains = halted public transportation. It sucks!
