Craves and Sights: Woo Galbi, Gigi Cafe/Shelter, Cafe Mesa

And so I pigged out again.

I just can't seem to stop my cravings that I have to eat at different restaurants all the time. As much as I would like to save money and spend less on food (as bulk of my meager monthly salary goes to food), I couldn't help it. My insatiable human cravings are far more powerful than my EQ. So here goes yet another set of restaurants I have tried over the past few weeks.

Address: Level 6, Shangri-La Plaza, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City

You know how I love everything Korean, right? Food is just one of the many things I love about Korea. Though I don't think Woo Galbi is actually authentic, but I must say that their bibimbap and jjampong tasted really good. We had the bibimbap with bulgogi sauce and my mouth literally went berserk secreting so much saliva. It was that good! We also ordered it with red rice for a healthier version. The jjampong was equally mouth-watering. The noodles were soft and they had so much ingredients! The shrimps were huge and the soup was not that spicy. Their servings are for sharing unless your stomach can eat for two.

Address: 6th Level (inside Shelter Home & Design), Shangri-La Plaza Mall - East Wing, Shaw Blvd. cor. EDSA, Mandaluyong Metro ManilaPhilippines

I can't go on a day without having my sugar fix. Dessert will always be an integral part of my life. When we first passed by this quaint store I was attracted by the array of furniture and coffee table books on display for sale. And to my surprise, the garden-inspired corner to the right is actually a small cupcake and coffee shop. After drooling over the quirky and modern furniture they offer, my friend and I decided to satisfy our sugar craving. Gigi doesn't offer a wide variety of cupcakes and pastries but the taste is at par with other more popular cupcake shops. But I think their main advantage is the price. Each cupcake sells for only 50.00PHP with size just enough to satiate your cravings - not too small to leave you wanting more, not too big to give you diabetes.

Address: Cafe Mesa Coffee House Building 2078, Cardinal Santos Avenue, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines

My family and I love going to Pampanga to try out different restaurants. Pampanga is a province in the Philippines that is hugely popular for their cuisine. Here we always find good restaurants that not only prove to serve delicious food but also a feast for the eyes.

Cafe Mesa is located in the quiet area of Clark Freeport Zone. There were only a few people dining when we were there: one table was occupied by Koreans and another was occupied by Japanese. I find that mostly Koreans and Japanese inhabit Clark as I see a lot of them whenever we are there. But anyway, I really enjoyed this quaint restaurant for its cozy ambiance and for the really moist and dense cakes they serve.

I hope to try more restaurants soon. Any suggestions?
