6 Things I Do to Stay Happy

Hat: Peaches on Top | Necklace and Boots: Forever 21
Dress: Gap | Watch: Swatch | Bag: from mom

While happiness may be a vague and intuitive word, it is a feeling that I think we all understand. When we see people smile, we know they are happy. When we hear people laugh, we know they are happy. It may not be eternal happiness but they were happy for a fleeting moment. We understood the emotion behind the action.

I can't say I am the happiest person in the world because as a human, I covet many mundane things. I want more clothes. I want designer makeup, bags, and shoes. I want a huge house and luxury car. Though I know these monetary things can only give me ephemeral happiness, I want them still. I guess it is very human of me to want what the world has to offer. I am able to shop for clothes more often than some people and gain temporary satisfaction/happiness but in the end I am still unhappy. Why? Because I will want more later on. It is a never ending cycle that we, humans, get into. We succumb to monetary temptations and when we finally get it, we end up wanting more; insatiable.

But happiness should not be dependent on such things. There is so much more to this world than luxury brands and a mansion. I still believe that people can be happy even if they don't have money. Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy even if you have nothing or choose to be miserable. Life may be difficult and challenging at times but that shouldn't stop you from living a happy life.

Craves and Sights: Historic Camalig, Xtremely Xpresso, Croque Cafe + Bakery

A good ambiance can make the food taste a hundred times better. Some people might disagree with me but I find the visuals helpful in developing the taste of the food and in making the experience of eating more memorable. I always enjoy my food better when I eat at restaurants with the same appealing and appetizing interiors.

New restaurants are popping up here and there like mushrooms. I often hear new restaurants opening up almost every week! You can just imagine the "restaurants-to-try" list that I have! I have a ton and I am only just beginning my adventure.

Food will always have a huge place in my heart - and in my stomach. So I have started this adventure where I want to try new and quirky - or eccentric - restaurants. Well, most of these aren't new, actually. But they are new to me so I hope you enjoy the few restaurants I have tried over the past few weeks and I intend to make this a weekly habit. Hooray for good food and lovely ambiance!
