Remember this post? I was finally able to cross out one and that is watching a movie alone. I used to be scared of doing this because of an urban legend that circulated when I was in elementary. They said when you watch a movie alone, someone will prick you with an injection containing HIV and in effect you will become a AIDS victim. That story scared the hell out of me and I didn't go to the cinema for a while. I told myself I shall never see a movie alone. I will only watch a movie in the cinemas when I am with friends or my family. But as I grow older, I realized that is just an urban legend. And besides, I will never achieve anything in life if I will remain scared all the time right? So one day I just decided I want to watch a movie alone. And so I did. As I look around the cinema, there were many people watching the movie alone too. Now that I've done it, I feel liberated. I can do this again next time. Sometimes, it is nice to do things on your own and watching a movie alone is one of those things.

So I watched Fifty Shades of Grey alone. A friend of mine found it surprising that I did probably because of the content of the movie. But in my opinion, it doesn't really matter. When you want to do something, you just gotta do it and this was the movie I want to watch when I finally decided to cross one out of my bucket list.

In case you didn't know, I was a fan of the Fifty Shades of Grey book. They are not the most well-written books I've read but I liked them nonetheless. It was mostly because the story is predictable and it was a genre that I've never read before that made it interesting for me. So when the movie came out I was excited to finally see it. I had mixed reactions with the casting just like most people but after watching the movie I realized how perfect they were for the role. But, I think Dakota Johnson was so bad at portraying lust and passion. It was obvious she was acting during the intimate scenes. I was not sold with her acting. There were also rumors of Jamie Dornan being replaced and I was disappointed. He has now replaced my image of Christian Grey so changing him as the lead role is something I would protest. After watching the movie, I thought he was perfect for it. The movie was very close to the book. Just like many other books-turned-films, not everything can be included and with that, somehow the flow of the story became too fast. But I am not complaining because the important scenes I think were included. What disappointed me though was how they "blacked out" the genitals of the actors. Not that I am keen on seeing those, it's just that they did it in a very distracting manner. I wish they had done it artistically and seamlessly; not just put a patch and voila, everything is covered. It was very distracting. Another thing that disappointed me was that I thought the movie was kinda boring. I was always looking at my watch expecting the movie to end anytime soon. It might be because it was too long or because I knew exactly what was going to happen next. The dialogues were changed and they made it funnier in the movie but I think that wasn't enough to keep me interested throughout the movie. Overall, I think the movie was okay but I don't think it was worth watching.

  6. Haha, this reminds me of a video with porn stars listing out why they hated 50 shades of grey. They basically said that the entire thing was implied porn yet most of the women think that the actual thing is gross/shameful. Plus that movie tickets are expensive and they could get the same thing by Googling their name and watching everything they pretend to do for free :P

I watched a movie alone by myself when I was younger, it wasn't that bad actually! Eating alone is something I've never done before, though I see a lot of people do it. I don't know what it is, but it's kinda intimidating for me to do.

Also love your outfit - the shoes and shirt are both loud, but they go together so well!

    1. Haha! Yes, it is porn in some way. But I think people argue it isn't because it has a story. Though some porn have stories too, right?

It was my first time and it was liberating. I salute you for doing it when you were younger! But I eat alone most of the time. I get hungry all the time so I can't be bothered to text people and ask them to eat with me. Haha!
