I was never really a fan of Japanese food until recently. I used to think their food tastes bland. It's probably because I have never tasted authentic Japanese cuisine until my colleagues and I dined at Nihon Bashetei almost 2 years ago. I used to eat only Tonkatsu and Takoyaki but since then I started eating sushi, sahimi and many other Japanese food. This sparked my interest in this small alley filled with various Japanese restauants in Makati called Little Tokyo, I've been bugging my friend to come dine with me here and she finally gave in. I shall return and taste more Japanese food!
I am not really sure what significance bunnies have in Japanese culture. The place is filled with so many bunny statues doing various things.
It's hanami season in Japan right now. How I wish these cherry blossoms were real!
My friend and I decided to dine in Shinjuku because we were both craving for ramen. Their ramen bowls are so huge that we started feeling sleepy right after. It was too much for one person! They also didn't skimp on the ingredients so you get value for your money. But I would suggest you share a bowl with a friend instead of getting separate orders. The bowls are really huge!
My friend and I are in-love with this ice cream flavor. It tastes just like cookies and cream but the difference is that the black sesame really leaves a trace in between your teeth. Make sure you gargle/brush your teeth/floss right after eating. We also tried their miso-sake flavor which is kinda weird. It's sweet and salty at the same time. You can also really taste miso initially and then the after taste is sake. It was weird and I am not sure if I like it or not.
I plan to go back here soon and try the other restaurants. Hopefully I get to try Kakigoori next time.
