Hallyu Corner: The Kings Are Back

The Kings are back.

I was never really a fan of Kpop, or anything related to Korea for that matter, before. I have always loved Japanese anime and Japan and Korea was never in my mental map. That was until I saw GDragon's version of This Love by Maroon 5 on YouTube. I thought he sounded cool and I thought his version was interesting. I then became mesmerized. I started Googling him and then stumbled upon an article about BigBang. I still wasn't sure though at this time if I already like Kpop or not but I have definitely become interested. I searched for their videos on YouTube and I instantly became a fan. Their music is different from all the other Kpop songs I've heard before which weren't really to my liking and their concept is also different. I thought they were unique and I thought they were stimulating. It was then that I became obsessed with Kpop.

After 3 long years, they are back and I couldn't be any happier. #fangirlproblems!

They released 2 songs from their new mini album entitled Loser and Bae Bae. The former is on repeat on my mobile phone. I love how meaningful and deep the lyrics of the song is. This may not be what many people are expecting from a comeback song but I think this song is something that many people will be able to relate to. It is sad but when you read the lyrics you'll be amazed at how beautiful the song really is. The latter I am actually indifferent about. I was expecting it to be an upbeat, EDM type of music but I got something different. The lyrics is witty and humorous - not what you would expect from a Kpop group. The music video is also something that you will not expect - very provocative. The melody itself is not something that I will initially like. It took me a few more plays before I actually found the song fun and interesting. It is still not my jam but I like how they played with my imagination and how the lyrics are playfully written.

BigBang will always be my favorite group. Though I don't like Bae Bae as much as I like Loser, I am still smitten by how unexpected they always are. They never fail to bring something different to the table which makes them all the more lovable. I will always be a VIP.

  9. Thank you, sweetie!

Is understandable. If the weather doesn't help, we can't wear pants printed only by dressing. We must take great care not to dirty.
Although a lot of people don't like, I also like very much to see these pants in men. Are elegant as long as it's something discreet. :D
