Nars Orgasm Blush vs Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Sweet

Nars Orgasm blush and Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes are both products that everyone seems to be using. People who have used both claim they are one of the best blushes there is. Aside from the nice color, they are also pigmented. But both are not cheap. Nars costs $30US and Tarte costs $28. Not much difference in price tag - both are quite pricey. But are they really worth it? Which would give more value for money?

I was lucky both blushes were given to me as presents. I am not one to spend that much money on blushes because I can get a nice blush from Etude House for only $10. See the difference in price? But with all the hype I read on the internet, I became curious. I wanted to try them both. And as if God listened to my curiosity, my aunt gave me the Nars one and my sister gave me the Tarte one. I was appalled when I saw how similar the colors. Both looked exactly the same.

Nars Blush in Orgasm
I have heard a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube rave about this product. Every time I see a makeup tutorial, most of them use this as blush. I've always wanted to try this one out but it was too expensive. And when I finally was able to try it, here are my thoughts:
  • It isn't as pigmented as I want it to be
  • Multi-product: blush and highlighter
  • Expensive
  • More on the peachy side (though on the internet it says pink but from what I see, it looks more peachy than pink)
I really want to love this product but sadly, I don't. It's not that bad but I wish it would have more pigment on my face. I am pasty white and just a little bit of blush would give me instant flush - sometimes it becomes too pigmented that I look like I was slapped really hard. But this didn't do it for me.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Sweet
Similar to Nars, I have heard so many beauty gurus use Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes. The blush also looks super cute which piqued my curiosity. Here are my thoughts:
  • It gradually colors your face. When I first apply it on my cheeks, it wasn't as pigmented as I want it to be. But after a few minutes I saw the color developed and it looks really nice. One time I put too much because the initial application wasn't enough and my cheeks became super red!
  • Multi-product: blush and highlighter
  • A little less expensive than Nars
  • More on the pinky side.
Honetsly, I love this more than the Nars one. It is pigmented, it costs less, and it looks cute.

They do look similar upon initial sight but when you apply them, one is more peachy and the other is more pinky. Nars is okay but not as great as I had hoped it would be. I would prefer the Tarte one anytime. Also, I think I look better with pink blushes than peach blushes. Do you agree?

  1. I love this blush!

Would you like to follow eachother on G+ & bloglovin?

    1. I love them both but I still prefer Tarte.
