Product Review: Touch in Sol Corean Complexion Cream (CC Cream)

I am one of the millions of women out there who are religious users of BB creams. Ever since I learned about them, I have always wanted to get my hands on this holy grail product. The first one I ever tried was a sample from Missha (M Perfect Cover) and I fell in-love. It was that good that even when at the time I was a poor college student, I saved my allowance just to buy a bottle. Alas, my allowance wasn't enough so I opted for the Maybelline BB cream. It was super inexpensive and did a decent job. Throughout the years of my discover and journey with BB creams, so many other products that claim to be even better than BB creams came sprouting here and there. CC creams were all the rage a couple or so years ago. And then DD creams also made an appearance to the market which only a handful were able to pick up. I have never tried the latter and I don't know really know what brands make them and where I can get them. But because many people prefer CC creams over BB creams and the saleslady at Banila Co was even telling me their CC cream is their top selling product, my curiosity ballooned and I thought I just had to get one. While shopping in Sasa KLCC Suria, I stumbled upon this Korean brand I was not very familiar with. I thought the packaging was gorgeous and it wasn't that expensive. Most of the time, when I wan to try a brand out I always go for either a lip product or a face product. The packaging of the CC cream caught my attention the most so I decided to try it. I can't say CC creams are better than BB creams with just this one alone but I can say that I do like CC creams on days when you don't want coverage and want to let your skin breath but you still want the benefits of BB creams.

Pros:

  • SPF 30 PA++
  • Adapts to your skin tone after a few minutes
  • Nice brightening effect
  • Dewy and hydrated finish (doesn't look oily)
  • I find that it neutralizes the redness of my face
Con
  • Very thick formula. Not recommended for hot and humid weathers.
  • Can get oily quickly
  • Does not have coverage
  • Comes in only one shade and may not adapt well to darker skin colors
Overall
I generally like this CC cream because it neutralizes the redness of my face and because it has SPF. In my opinion, this works more like a moisturizer/sunscreen than a skincare/makeup like what BB creams does. I do still use this product on days when I want to look natural but still want my skin to be protected from the sun. But I would still go for BB creams any other day because it has coverage.

Are you a CC or BB cream fan?

  1. I don't use CC or BB creams, I prefer liquid or powder foundations for more coverage :)
