Cheapskate

Top: thrifted | Pants: Landmark | Shoes: Payless
Bag: Coach | Key Chain: Alice On Wednesday | Watch: Swatch | Necklace: Forever 21
Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

I am a cheapskate and I am not ashamed to admit that. I don't like spending too much on things. I want great things in life (like branded and designer stuff) but I like to get them at an affordable cost. I wouldn't spend 20,000.00PHP for a bag when I can get it at half the price in secondhand shops or in outlet shops. I wouldn't spend 5,000.00PHP on a designer makeup when I can get a 1,000.00PHP version of it at my favorite Korean makeup store. The great things in life shouldn't be too expensive. You just have to be resourceful and be creative.

The top I am wearing I got for only 50.00PHP (about US$1) at a thrift store. I love buying clothes in thrift stores (not really shoes and bags because most of them are too worn out to still pass as wearable) because some things I find are quite trendy (or vintage) and super cheap. I don't mind wearing thrifted clothes because I have my special way of cleaning them to ensure that they are thoroughly cleansed and bacteria free (hope that my special cleaning process works). It takes a lot of patience when shopping in thrift stores because each item is different and you want to go through all the hangers in every rack. But the end result is always worth it. Not only did you spend little you also get clothes that are unique.

The Coach bag I got at Mistui Outlet Mall in Nagoya, Japan. I got this for only 9,000PHP which is already quite cheap considering it is from Coach and their bags retail for 20,000PHP and above. Quite ironic that their bags are made in the Philippines but they are sold at astronomical prices compared to the US. I wouldn't buy a Coach bag for 20,000.00PHP. I think that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a bag. Though if it is a designer brand like Chanel I might consider. But I don't have the heart to go into that yet. Maybe in my 30's when I am more financially stable.

To be a cheapskate doesn't mean I have to settle for something less than what I deserve. I work hard for the money I earn and I deserve the great things in life including branded and designer stuff as well as nice clothes. But that doesn't mean I have to spend all my money to get those things I deserve and want. I am a cheapskate so I can always find ways on how I can get things I want at a price I can afford.

  22. Thanks! But it is made of chiffon so it isn't uncomfortable at all. And because it is wide-legged air flows freely everywhere. It is almost 40C where I live and I am usually good with cold temperatures and I didn't sweat wearing this (or I did because my sweat glands are hyper active and I sweat even in cold temperatures. haha!).
