Quick Respite

We all need to take a short respite once in a while. A quick getaway to the nearest beach or mountain for the weekend is sometimes enough to recharge you for what awaits the following week. As they say, work hard but play harder.

I was on a slump for months now and I was on the verge of quitting my job because I was just feeling bored and uninspired. I don't have the motivation to get up in the morning. I always look forward to 4:30PM (dismissal time) even before I reach work. I just didn't want to continue what I was doing. Good thing we were on a long weekend just a week ago and I decided to go to the beach. I could not have been happier with that decision. It was the kind of vacation I needed to bring back the inspiration and the motivation to continue with life.  I just needed to feel the sand on my feet, the sun on my back and waves on body. There is something therapeutic about being in the ocean so now I understand why some people couldn't get away from the beach and decide to live there. Now I can say I am fully recharged, inspired and motivated to do better.

Work-life balance is the key to living a happy and fulfilled life. Make time for yourself and do the things that keep you inspired.

  2. Stepping away from the day-to-day aspects of life is the perfect way to recharge and re-energize! It helps put things in perspective and gives me new focus when I'm feeling tired or even lazy. It sounds like you had a great time and the beach is beautiful!!

  11. That's very true, we all need a work-life balance! I also think that about blogging too, sometimes too much blogging makes it feel like a chore which I definitely don't want it to ever end up being like!

  12. I agree. Blogging should never feel like that. I guess we are putting too much pressure on ourselves to keep up with the fast pace of the blogging world. We should just let it go, relax, and just do what we want to do and not compromise our happiness.

  14. You are right! It is easy to feel stuck and bored but it is so hard to get back on track. This is why we need to take short breaks from time to time.

  19. I agree! Sometimes we just need to take a break and detach from the world to help you relax and as you said, put things into perspective. And when you come back, you will feel more alive, happier, and inspired to do better.
