With the popularity of Korean cosmetics these days, it is no wonder that many people would want to join the bandwagon. However, newbies would feel overwhelmed. The selection is as vast as the Pacific Ocean and the brands as many as the visible pores on my face (meaning A LOT!). I started out early in the game which is why I am able to catch up on the ever-changing trends in Korean cosmetics. Though I admit that there are so many brands out there nowadays that I haven't even heard of before, but as someone who has been following the industry for quite some time, I can say I have an understanding on what works and what don't. So, for the newbies out there or for anyone who is curious about Korean cosmetics, here are 7 products that you should try (and yes, I recycle my pictures because I have nothing better to show you).

Etude House Draw My Eye Brow - this is by far the most affordable but effective eyebrow pencil I have ever used. It glides on smoothly on the eyebrows and comes in a variety of shades to match most hair colors. The pencil is also very easy to hold for precise application. The other end is a spoolie to help blend the harsh edges and to spread the product all over the eyebrows covering the patches. This is a great eyebrow pencil for beginners.

The Face Shop Freshian Volume Mascara - this has become a staple in my makeup stash. I would always find myself buyig a new one whenever my previous one would dry up. This is affordable (only 298.00PHP ) and works really well. The consistency is watery thereby minimising the spider lashes effect. It also makes application smooth and easy. The effect is curly and flity lashes. It isn't waterproof and contrary to the name, I didn't notice my lashes become volumized. But it didn't weigh down my lashes and stayed curly for hours. This is also a good mascara for the bottom lashes.

I hope this article gave you an insight on the crazy, competitive and overwhelming world of Korean cosmetics. There are so many more that I really highly recommend but for beginners, these 8 are a must. But please note that though many people just like me give these products so much praise, not all of these may work with your skin. I have oily and sensitive skin so if you are similar, these may work well for you. Pictures of products were taken from the official website of the brands.
