Product Review: Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur

Primers are an essential part of my makeup routine. I don't know about you but in my opinion primers can make your skin appear smoother and make application of makeup easier. I have always been curious about the Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur because it claims to make your skin appear smoother and feel silkier. If a product claims my pores will disappear, I am sold. My enlarged pores have always been an insecurity (and so does my indented acne scars but more of my pores) and I just want them to disappear!

I have been using the Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur for 2 weeks now and I can't say I am in-love but I don't hate it either. It is more of a neutral product that has a few benefits but also a few downsides. I may or may not repurchase once I have used up the bottle I currently have.

Pros:
  • No scent
  • Easy to blend
  • Watery consistency
  • Has SPF (low SPF but still has compared to most primers that have none at all)
  • Blends well with any skin tone (the peach color works well with any skin tone)
  • Doesn't feel heavy on the skin
  • Small amount is needed to cover entire face and neck area
  • Makes the skin appear less red
  • Makes skin look smoother
Cons:
  • Can make skin oily in just a few hours (probably around 2 hours)
  • A bit expensive (around 800.00PHP ++ for a regular priced bottle)
  • Doesn't hide pores

Overall:
I am still not sure if I like this product or not. Though I have listed more benefits than cons, the reason I bought it was to hide my pores. However, it did nothing to hide them. They are still there: very visible and very large. The fact that it makes my skin super oily after a few hours is another reason for me to reconsider before I repurchase. But overall, I do think this product is good. Most of the time I would just wear this, dab some concealer under my eyes and on spots and I am good to go. It has reduced the amount of time I spend putting makeup on.
I will probably try other primers when I have finished this bottle before I decide if I will repurchase or not.

  1. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts on this primer with us, girlie! I, too, dislike when a product claims to do something, but doesn't deliver. I hope you're having the best start to your week so far. PS: You're such a beauty!

  2. Too bad the product didn't perform well. I haven't, personally, tried much EH makeup but I guess this one is something I'm skipping if I wanna try them out. I just finished my Banila Co. Primer and currently using the NYX Pore Filler... Which I kind of don't like. LOL I'm planning on switching back to Banila Co. or maybe try MAC.

I like to hide my pores too but I use a TonyMoly primer now and it works well.

  6. Gorgeous packaging! And love that it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. But not so good with the oily look though, even though there were so many great pros! Lovely review as always! Xx

  9. Yes. The packaging of Etude House products is amazing. Really gorgeous and friendly designs. But disappointed that the main purpose was not served. I expected my pores to look less visible but nope!

  10. Yes. Most Etude House primers can make skin oily but some of them do work well.

  13. Banila Co is still the best primer for me! I love the matte on. I haven't tried MAC yet. Let us know your experience with it if you do decide to try. I am still hesitant to spend on any MAC products at the moment (financial reasons).
