Where I Buy Korean Cosmetics

I am going to Seoul again in a few days and I honestly can’t wait! I thought I wouldn’t get the chance to visit this year as I have been going to Japan recently. But thanks to seat sales, I was able to get a ticket to experience winter in Seoul again (and to hoard some Korean cosmetics as I need to replenish my stock)!

Though there are so many Korean brands opening stores in Manila in recent months, not everyone can access them. Either they live too far from the malls or they just don’t know where to go. If you are curious about buying (or hoarding, in my case) Korean cosmetics, here are a few places I recommend that you try:

Myeongdong (if you are going to Soeul, South Korea)

Myeongdong is known as the shopping mecca in Seoul so it is no wonder that brand after brand after brand of Korean cosmetics are setting up shop here. There are literally too many branches of one brand within the same street! That is how thriving the cosmetics industry in South Korea. If you forgot to buy a product in one branch, you can bet there is another branch of the same brand within a few steps that you can visit.

And the great thing about shopping for Korean cosmetics in Myeongdong is the freebies. Because competition is intense, sales people outside will give you instant freebies if you notice them and enter the store (even if you don’t buy anything). But if you purchase some stuff, you get even more freebies!

Options are endless in Myeongdong. Almost every Korean cosmetics brand you can think of is here so it is no brainer that a Korean beauty junkie like me would always think of Myeongdong as the best place to shop for Korean cosmetics.

Althea Korea and Beautymnl.com (if you prefer to order online and you are in the Philippines)

Though Myeongdong is the “heaven” for Korean cosmetics, I am well aware that not everyone can go to Seoul often just to shop. For many people out there, shopping in online stores would be the easiest way to get their hands on Korean cosmetics.

If you have been following my blog, I already raved about Althea Korea here, here, and here. I love how neatly organized the shop is, the free shipping (for a minimum amount spent), the fast shipping, and the variety of brands (they carry brands I have never even heard of before). Some of their products are even cheaper than when you buy in Myeongdong! They have a store for Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. I am not sure if you will be able to order from them if you are outside those countries.

Another online store that seems to be getting a lot of attention lately is Beautymnl.com. I personally have never tried ordering from them before but judging from the reviews, they seem pretty good! They also have a wide array of Korean cosmetics to choose from. The things I am most impressed about with the site is that they carry Japanese brands too (which I equally love) and they offer cash on delivery (for a minimum amount spent). I don’t know if they offer international shipping but they ship within the Philippines.

Landmark/SM Department Store (if you want to go to a physical store in Manila)

If going to Myeongdong and online shopping is not your cup of tea, you can visit your nearest Landmark or SM Department Store. They have shelves after shelves after shelves of Korean cosmetics brands. Many Korean brands would have their own standalone stores in malls but if you want a one-stop-shop with lots of options, Landmark and SM Department Store could satisfy that. Nature Republic, Etude House, Missha, Tony Moly, Holika Holika, and The Face Shop are just some of the brands you can find there.

These are just a few of the places I shop in for Korean cosmetics. I am sure there are plenty more out there especially with online stores (like Sasa.com but from reviews, I would not recommend ordering from their online store). Please feel free to share places where you shop for Korean cosmetics as I would be interested to check them out (and discover new brands!).

P.S. all pictres used in this post are googled/screenshots. If I used your picture, please do not hesitate to message me for proper crediting (or if you want me to take them down).
