Travelogue: Hong Kong Disneyland

Disneyland is considered by most people as the happiest place on earth. I have never been to Disneyland (until my Hong Kong trip) and always had that look of disbelief whenever people say that. I am always sceptical about hypes like that and I always think such statement is just an exaggeration. Turns out I was right (or maybe because I haven’t been to any other Disneyland aside from the one in Hong Kong). Disneyland is definitely not the happiest place on earth – at least for an adult. Maybe if I was below 12 years old I would be able to say that but I am sorry Disneyland, Universal Studios is way better (like a thousand times better). I guess the main audience of Disneyland are kids anyway which is why the attractions are all appealing to kids. The whole theme park was beautiful – that I cannot contest. But in terms of the things you can do there, they have very limited choices and not as fun as the attractions in Universal Studios. The theme park is also surprisingly small (maybe because Hong Kong is small to begin with). I imagined it to be bigger than Universal Studios Japan or even that size but it is definitely way smaller in terms of land area. I still enjoyed our trip there because the queue for the rides isn’t as long as Universal Studio’s and because the place is just picturesque. I would go back if given the chance but I would prefer Universal Studios Japan anytime over Hong Kong Disneyland.

Blogger Problem #5: Followers

Eyelet Blouse: thrifted | Skirt: Charlie | Shoes: Zara
Bag: Furla | Watch: Swatch | Brooch: from mom | Bracelet: gifted

For bloggers, the ultimate determining factor of popularity and influence is the number of followers that they have. Number of followers is directly proportional to influence and popularity. Therefore, bloggers these days really work hard to gain as many followers as they can and show advertisers or potential sponsors that people read their blogs and that people are influenced by their blogs. However, I find that is not the case anymore.

Product Review: Etude House Any Cushion Magic Mint

I've been etudized again recently (a term I coined years ago when the only makeup brand that would fit my budget is Etude House and the time when I was obsessed with it). I stopped purchasing from them for some time because I was not impressed with the quality. I guess my skin condition changed, my skin concerns changed, and my purchasing capacity changed. I tried other brands and was quite impressed that I thought I wouldn't go back. But over the holiday, if you watched my Korean Beauty Haul video, I just couldn't resist the buy 1 get 1 sale of Etude House. I was happy I made the visit and now I remember why I used to love this brand. It's all thanks to this Etude House Any Cushion Magic Mint.

Travelogue: Nan Lian Garden (Hong Kong)

Nan Lian Garden is a little known attraction in Hong Kong. Not many people know it exists and doesn't appear much on travel blogs or articles. Honestly, we also had no idea it exists. We just browsed through the suggested places to visit article saved on our hotel room's smartphone (yes, our room has free smartphone you can actually take anywhere with you in Hong Kong equipped with internet connection). We stumbled upon an article and the pictures were just breathtaking. I had wanted to visit something cultural in Hong Kong and saw that the Kowloon Walled City has a traditional garden in the middle. We decided to go for that and see how this once densely populated and underworld hub was transformed. We didn't go there in the end and opted for Nan Lia Garden instead. Good decision. There weren't too many people so walking around and taking pictures was leisurely. It was chilly and gloomy that day which made the perfect backdrop to this beautiful garden. The location was a bit odd as it is right in the middle of a highway. Actually, I am not sure if it is really in the middle of a highway but when you exit on one side, there are speeding cars and all pavement within your sight. Another exit has roads and flyovers covering you. It was a weird location but despite the busyness around, this offers a nice respite. It was relaxing, cooling, and definitely worth the visit.

Althea Korea Haul

By now I assume you already know that I am a huge fan of Korean beauty products. Most of them are affordable and they deliver - they give me the results that I want. So when Althea Korea approached me to be one of their beta testers for their Philippines website, I couldn't say no. I was super excited and I can't wait to try all of the items I bought from them.

One of the things I like about the website is that they have brands that are less popular and not yet available in malls here in the Philippines. If you are a fan of Korean beauty products, you can check them out at http://ph.althea.kr Their website will be live and open to the public by 15 February 2016 so mark your calendars!
