Bag: from mom | Sunglasses: Aldo

This was supposed to be published yesterday but I had to push back as there was no article prepared for the post. Apologies if you waited for this post at 11:30AM. I couldn’t get myself to do anything productive over the weekend as I just really wanted to take some rest. Anyway, posts this week will be one day delayed because of this post but on Sunday, 5 June, we will be back to regular programming (crossing my fingers).

Japan vs. Korea: Poretol Pore Cover Base and Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Stick

Japan and Korea are two East Asian countries that have fascinated the world not just because of their colourful and vibrant cultures but also because of their beauty industries. Japanese and Korean cosmetic brands have dominated the beauty industry in recent years and they are foreseen to continue to do so in many years to come. I, for one, am an avid fan of both countries’ beauty market. I find a lot of cool items and because they are formulated for Asian skin. But if you are new to the Asian beauty industry, it might become overwhelming as to which products and brands to get. So today, I am starting this new series I call "Japan vs Korea" wherein I will compare 2 similar products from Japan and Korea. This aims to help those who are new to the Asian beauty market become familiar with what is out there.

How I Handled My Quarterlife Crisis

Dress: Jill Stuart | Shoes: Nine West | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Watch: Swatch
Lips: Mac Sunny Seoul

One day you are perfectly okay. You are happy. You love life. But the next you find it hard to cope with living every day. You are sad. You are lonely. After graduating from college you can’t wait for your life to start. You have high hopes. You are positive. But after months of job hunting or months after landing your first job you feel unsatisfied. You feel discontent. You are lost. If you can relate, don’t worry as you are not alone. Many of us have gone through this phase in life which we call quarter-life crisis and many of us are still undergoing.

Nagoya, Japan (Nabana no Sato)

Denim Jacket and Dress: thrifted | Boots: H&M | Bag: from mom
Watch: Swatch | Pins: Stradivarius | Necklace: Forever 21

Botanical gardens are the very reason why spring will always be my favorite season. The different colors and species of flowers make the world look 100x better. If only spring exists where I live I’d be the happiest person on earth. The temperature is also wonderful as it is sunny but cold and not too wet. Surprisingly, in great contrast from my spring vacation in Busan last year (which I describe as wet and gloomy), Nagoya is sunny and dry. My spring vacation fantasies came true (though I wish the cherry blossoms were already in full bloom but we were a week early).

Product Review: W.Lab W-Honey Beam Cushion BB Cream SPF 50 PA++ #23

The cushion BB/CC/foundation craze never stops. Brand after brand is releasing their versions. I have never tried a cushion BB cream before because I am so in-love with the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream that all others are non-existent to me. But when Althea Korea contacted me to become their beta tester, I decided to give cushion BB creams a try. I saw the W.Lab W-Honey Beam Cushion BB Cream SPF 50 PA++ and I thought the packaging looks cute. It is also endorsed by the infamous ulzzang Hong Young Gi (not sure if she actually owns the brand) so I was definitely sold. This is the first time I tried a cushion BB cream and I must say I am impressed. I might try other brands as well because I just love the effect of the W.Lab W-Honey Beam Cushion BB Cream on my skin.

Journey To Forever

Dress: People Are People | Shoes: Zara | Bag: Betsey Johnson

#mayforever

Just the thought of being with your loved one for the rest of your life sends the butterflies in your stomach to a flutter. Just imagining growing old and spending the rest of your life with your loved one makes your cheeks turn red. You can’t help but grin from ear to ear and you can’t control your faster-than-the-speed-of-light heartbeat. It sends electricity down your spine and you feel lighter than air. It is nice to be in-love and nicer to spend the rest of your life with the person you love.

I am happy to have witnessed 3 weddings already this year and it is enough for me to believe that forever exists. I am a hopeless romantic and I am always interested in listening to love stories. I wish all those 3 couples the best of luck and I hope they have the best rest of their lives with their better halves. I hope they stay in-love for the rest of their lives.

Guam, USA: Two Lover's Point and Under Water World

This is the last of the Guam, USA travelogue series. I had so much fun in Guam and will definitely go back. This is one place you won't get tired of coming back. Aside from the spectacular shopping experience I had, the people are very friendly, courteous and helpful.

Thank you Guam for a wonderful experience. I hope to see you again next year.

Spend vs Save: Benefit's The Porefessional Primer and Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer

The size of my pores is one of my biggest insecurities. I have had oily skin ever since I can remember and have had acne since I was in 5th grade (which are said to be the cause of huge and open pores). I rarely breakout these days (all thanks to my dermatologist) but the size of my pores remained the same; it is as huge as the moon’s craters.

Commuting Is Fun

Dress and Sandals: Zara | Camisole and Earrings: Forever 21 | Sunglasses: H&M
Bag: Michael Kors | Watch: Swatch | Lips: Mac in Sunny Seoul

The Philippines, especially Metro Manila, don’t offer as many scenic areas as that of other countries that can make your commute fun and memorable. On top of that, the public transportation of this country is one of the most inefficient in the world. Your day has not even started yet and you already look like you had the worst day of your life. Despite the shortcomings of our public transportation system, there are ways we can make the daily journey fun and productive.

3 Days in Guam, USA (Short Vlog)

Apologies for so much shaking!

I had the best shopping experience of my life in Guam! I promise to be back every year just to go shopping (and do some tourist-y things of course). We basically spent the entire 3 days shopping and I went home with a luggage filled with all my heart's desires.

Places we went to:
*Guam Premium Outlets
*Macy's
*K-Mart
*Tumon Bay
*Two Lover's Point
*Under Water World

Surprisingly, the Filipino community there is quite huge. Everywhere we go - McDonald's crew, taxi driver, Duty Free staff - there are so many Filipino's. Another observation I made is that half of Guam's population are Japanese tourists. They are also everywhere! I also saw one of my favorite Kpop rappers, Tablo, and his daughter Haru in KMart. I was too shy to ask for a picture but the memory will remain with me until I die (I just died inside that day).

Guam may be a small state but it definitely has a charm of its own. I have never been to mainland US so I cannot compare but I can say that I fell in-love with Guam.

Product Review: Bioré Micellar Cleansing Water

If you haven't heard about micellar cleansing water, you must be living under a rock. It is all the rage in the beauty world at the moment and everyone seems to be all praises about this relatively new product. It all started with the introduction of Bioderma to the public and due to its success every other beauty company seemed to follow suit. Some were able to rival but others fell short in comparison. I haven't tried Bioderma before so I cannot compare it with other cleansing waters I have tried (I have tried 2 to this date). The only reason holding me back from buying a bottle of that highly acclaimed Bioderma is the price. If money were no object I would have made the splurge a long time ago. But I guess I don't have to because I found another great cleansing water that removes makeup thoroughly and keeps my skin moisturized.

Cheapskate

Top: thrifted | Pants: Landmark | Shoes: Payless
Bag: Coach | Key Chain: Alice On Wednesday | Watch: Swatch | Necklace: Forever 21
Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

I am a cheapskate and I am not ashamed to admit that. I don't like spending too much on things. I want great things in life (like branded and designer stuff) but I like to get them at an affordable cost. I wouldn't spend 20,000.00PHP for a bag when I can get it at half the price in secondhand shops or in outlet shops. I wouldn't spend 5,000.00PHP on a designer makeup when I can get a 1,000.00PHP version of it at my favorite Korean makeup store. The great things in life shouldn't be too expensive. You just have to be resourceful and be creative.

Guam, USA Haul

Disclaimer: I don't intend to brag in any way. I am just happy to share all the good things I find when I shop/travel. If you don't like haul videos please feel free to exit.

This video was shot a week after I went to Guam. But I didn't have the time to edit and upload. I know I said in the intro "last weekend" but by the time this video goes live it would already be 2 months ago. Apologies for the delay.

Guam is heaven for shopping addicts like me! Everything is much cheaper there because it is a tax free state. I will probably go back next year and the every year thereafter just to satiate my shopping addiction.

I will try to look for the exact items online but if I can no longer find them, I'll give you a good dupe. But please note that I am not endorsing any of the website. Purchase at your own risk:
