I am not one to really follow trends. Most of time I am behind by a season or two. I just can't seem to find the reason to purchase trendy items that will most likely be out the next season. But on my lucky days a.k.a days when I go to the thrift store and find something that is on trend, I wouldn't pass the opportunity to purchase something trendy (though lately I have been making trendy purchases on accessories).
Most of the time, I look at the endorser before I decide to purchase from a certain brand. If I don't like the person endorsing the brand, I tend to pass. But if I like the endorser, I tend to hoard. This is what happened with me and the many Korean cosmetics brands that I love - Innisfree is one of those "many."
This is going to be the last of my San Francisco posts and I am honestly sad about this series ending. I enjoyed my stay there so much and I would love to go back. Of course, like any other trip, there were a few mishaps but everything turned out well in the end and I loved the place. Next time for sure, I will stay longer. And as they say, when a door closes a window opens. Hence, when this series concludes, I will start another one and I am super excited to share my experience. But for now, I hope you enjoy this last post feature Haight Street.

It is amazing how your style and taste in clothes changes over the years. I was never a fan of the color red and I always thought I looked too skinny in red. But when I saw this in H&M I could not resist. I contemplated hard if I should get it. I didn't try this in store. I was carrying it as I was looking around thinking hard if I should buy it. Alas, I went to the counter and just went for it. Surprisingly, I received so many compliments when I wore this dress and everyone seems to think this is my color. Now I think I like the color red - this shade of red to be exact.
This is a new monthly series that I am going to add to this blog. If you remember my latest Seoul Haul, you would remember me showing off the 1 year (or more) supply of freebies that I got from shopping in Myeongdong. Previously, I use the samples I get whenever I travel. But because I only use a few samples (like 1 sample of BB cream can last for a week so I only bring 1) I decided to start using at least 1 every week. Some of these samples will be expiring soon and it would be waste to throw them away hence I decided to do this series.

My San Francisco posts will be coming to an end soon as I am already down to our second to the last day. It was only a week of vacation (7 days to be exact) but definitely one for the books. San Francisco has always been in my bucket list and I am happy to have finally ticked it off.
It's been awhile again since I posted anything and I deeply missed writing. However, the demands of the new job hinder me from creating anything that would be sensible and of interest for this blog. Aside from the fact that I am far too tired to do anything when I get home, my brain is just filled with thoughts about work (and a new project I am working on) for me to be able to write anything. I wish I can write lengthy posts again that make sense and come up with topics that are relevant and interesting. I wish that was still the case.
The cold season was short lived (and I really wish it could be longer) and summer has finally arrived. With the change of season, I also decided to switch up a few makeup products. I don't normally pile on makeup but I tend to wear more during the cold season. But now that it started to become hot and humid I wear less makeup. I sweat a lot so I skip on anything with coverage during the summer (though I would dab a few dots of concealer under my eye - just under my eye).

all dream of becoming successful. That is basically what we live for. We work
so hard because we want to be successful in our jobs. We study diligently so we
can become successful in the future. We do things the way we do because our
goal in life is to become successful. But one thing that many people fail to
realize is the fact that success does not happen overnight. It is a combination
of patience, hard work, passion and time.
After a morning spent touring Castello di Amorosa, my aunt and I decided to visit the infamous Oxbow Public Market. It took another 2 hours from the castle to get here and by the time we arrived, we were both famished. We decided to eat at Gott's Roadside for a typical American lunch: burgers, fries and milkshake. I had been craving for a smooth, creamy milkshake for days and it was finally satisfied here. The diner was decorated with Halloween decor and it was just the cutest!
Despite the strong jetlag, my aunt and I braved the cold streets of San Bruno to catch the first BART train to El Cerrito Del Nort station. We then had to ride a bus for more than 2 hours to reach Castello di Amorosa. The commute to reach "The Castle," as it is locally known, was not smooth. It took us almost 4 hours both ways and we got lost along the way but it was definitely worth the trip.

As I mentioned in my previous post I took a break for a while because I had to do some major adjustments both in my life and my work. Everything was new to me and it was quite overwhelming initially but as I got used to the day to day demands and schedule of this new phase in my life, I suddenly felt more at ease. So now I am back, alive and still kicking (and a few pounds heavier than the last post).
This is long overdue but I am posting it anyway. Apologies for the hiatus yet again. As mentioned in previous posts, I transferred to a new workplace and there were adjustments I had to face. It was a challenging first few weeks for me so I decided to just slow down with my extra curricular activities and focus on work. I had to learn so many things in so little time and I felt exhausted afterwards. But now that I feel like I adjusted well, I am back to regular programming.
As a person who has an intense sweet tooth, I could not pass up the chance to visit Ghirardelli Square. I was too excited to visit the place that I went there with very high expectations only to be met halfway. The place is iconic and because of the cafe which is why people highly recommend visiting. But if you want to see something else (like what I did) you may be disappointed. The shops are too few and quite expensive and there is nothing else to see.
Again, this list is published late but I will be sharing more songs in this list compared to last’s because 2016 was just the height of Kpop for me. Though it is heart-breaking to hear some of my favorite groups disbanding (2ne1, 4minute and Miss A), there were still so many good songs released as well. Some I was even surprised to like because they were not really my style and genre. And when it comes to Kpop I tend to listen to the same groups I have known and loved. I am not really that open to knowing new groups because the faces and names confuse me (I know, as a kpop fan, that shouldn’t be an issue but I don’t have the patience to learn new faces and names. I want to know them instantly!). But last year, I promised myself to be more open about new groups and not pressure myself to know them immediately. I should take time to enjoy the music. So here is my list for this year:
If you read my blog long enough, you would know that I don’t wear foundation at all! I am so in-love with BB creams that I don’t even consider buying any foundation (not even the Too Faced Born This Way foundation that ever beauty blogger/vlogger seem to rave about). I like the thought of wearing a multi-purpose product like BB cream that contains SPF and other skincare properties while at the same time offer light to medium coverage. But when I saw this 24k Royal Gold Radiant Foundation in Althea Korea’s website, I was captured. It is a foundation that contains SPF and anything with SPF is always a plus for me (I live in an extremely sunny country so SPF is necessary). I bought it and I love it! I wore this every day during the holidays and I love the medium coverage and dewy finish. It also matched my skin tone well and did not clog my pores. Now I understand why some people still prefer wearing foundation even when there are BB creams and CC creams now available in the market.

We finished the Alcatraz tour right about lunch time so we headed to Pier 39 (which was about 10-15 minutes walk from Pier 33) to get a nice lunch at Boudin At The Wharf. The iconic one is located at Fisherman's Wharf but Pier 39 is nearer Pier 33 and we were already hungry. I must say Pier 39 is officially my favorite place in San Francisco (of all the places we visited). I love the carnivale theme of the place and how so many things are happening at the same time. It has a colorful and vibrant atmosphere contradicting the gloomy weather of San Francisco. This diabetes-inducing place (because of the abundance of sweets shops from ice cream to crepes and chocolates) is a place I felt like I belong.

And just like that, another year has ended. I don't even know where the year went and I didn't feel it go by. It felt like 2016 was a year that was just like all the other years before that. But I had so many things and experiences to be thankful for. I had a wonderful year nonetheless and I am hoping for a better and more memorable 2017.
Aside from makeup and skincare items, I managed to snag a few other items as well from my recent trip to Korea. I only managed to get one fashion item because all the pieces stores were selling were for winter. I don't have any use for winter clothes if I am not going to a cold place as average temperature where I live is 30-31 degrees C. Coldest would be 26 degrees C - not enough cold for thick clothes and wool sweaters. And because we had limited baggage space/weight going home. The amount of cosmetics we bought plus our winter attire are already beyond the allowable space/weight for the check-in baggage. Adding more winter items is already out of the picture.
Sometimes called "The Rock," Alcatraz is one of those places you shouldn't miss when you're in San Francisco. Only guided tours are allowed on this historical site and can only be reached by ferry. It is located about 2km off the shore of San Francisco which is about 10-15 minutes by ferry.
