Pier 39 (San Francisco, California, USA)

Bomber Jacket: Stradivarius | Jacket: Zara | Culottes: Forever 21
Sneakers: Adidas | Bag: Le Sportsac

We finished the Alcatraz tour right about lunch time so we headed to Pier 39 (which was about 10-15 minutes walk from Pier 33) to get a nice lunch at Boudin At The Wharf. The iconic one is located at Fisherman's Wharf but Pier 39 is nearer Pier 33 and we were already hungry. I must say Pier 39 is officially my favorite place in San Francisco (of all the places we visited). I love the carnivale theme of the place and how so many things are happening at the same time. It has a colorful and vibrant atmosphere contradicting the gloomy weather of San Francisco. This diabetes-inducing place (because of the abundance of sweets shops from ice cream to crepes and chocolates) is a place I felt like I belong.

There are so many options to get dessert at here but I was saving my sweet palate for later as we had planned to drop by Ghirardelli Square after we look around. The Otters lazily lying on the pier was also an attraction. I am unsure what exactly they were doing there lying but it didn't seem to me like they were sleeping. They were making noises and some of them were lying and swimming and then lying again. Sounds like my kind of life! There was also a magic show at the amphitheater in the middle and they were playing kpop that time (if I remember correctly it was Fantastic Baby by Bigbang) which drew my attention.

I would definitely go back and probably try the Dreyer's ice cream as it has been soooo long since I tasted one next time (we used to have Dreyer's here in the Philippines but they closed long time ago) and I don't remember how it tastes like anymore.

  11. Lovely photographs! I used to live in the bay area and worked in SF, and I miss it dearly! So thanks for reminding me how much I love it haha. I think I only went to Pier 39 once, and it was even before I lived there. Once I lived there I stayed far away for that place as it gets crowed. But it's definitely nice to see at least once!

  16. hahahaha! I had no choice because we were going to Ghirardelli Square after and I really wanted to try their ice cream (more than Dreyer's and the crepes and chocolates at Pier 39). Next time I definitely will!

  21. It does get crowded. There were so many people there that time (as proven by the amount of people who get in the way of my photos). But the amount of people is nothing compared to the amount I am used at a given place and time where I live (or it could be the day and time we went to Pier 39). The crowd doesn't really bother me but I can understand why some people wouldn't want that.
