Product Review: Royal Gold Radiant Foundation #21 SPF 35PA ++

If you read my blog long enough, you would know that I don’t wear foundation at all! I am so in-love with BB creams that I don’t even consider buying any foundation (not even the Too Faced Born This Way foundation that ever beauty blogger/vlogger seem to rave about). I like the thought of wearing a multi-purpose product like BB cream that contains SPF and other skincare properties while at the same time offer light to medium coverage. But when I saw this 24k Royal Gold Radiant Foundation in Althea Korea’s website, I was captured. It is a foundation that contains SPF and anything with SPF is always a plus for me (I live in an extremely sunny country so SPF is necessary). I bought it and I love it! I wore this every day during the holidays and I love the medium coverage and dewy finish. It also matched my skin tone well and did not clog my pores. Now I understand why some people still prefer wearing foundation even when there are BB creams and CC creams now available in the market.

I was hesitant initially to use this because I am not used to wearing foundation. I’ve been keeping this pact for months now (about 10 months I think?) before I started using it. Then over the holiday break, I decided to finally use it. I was on vacation anyway so in case anything happens, I can hide my face from the world! But when I touched it I already fell in love with the texture. It was soft and smooth. And then I tried to apply a small amount on  my jawline. I was surprised that it blended with my skin tone really well and it gave my jaw a smooth and dewy finish. It wasn’t heavy on the skin as well compared to other foundations I have tried before.  It also did not cake on my skin which is usually what happens after a few hours whenever I use foundations. I love this foundation so much I now changed my mind about foundations.

Pros:
·         Lightweight
·         Dewy and smooth finish
·         Contains SPF
·         Medium coverage
·         Does not cake on my skin
·         Blends with my skin tone
·         Expiration date is stamped at the bottom of the pact so you know until when the foundation can be used
·         Cream to liquid foundation (cream consistency but liquid foundation effect)
·         Has a nice, light scent

Cons:
·         Only available online
·       Unhygienic because you have to dip the sponge (or your finger) over and over on the pact. I don’t really mind because cushions are like this as well but this puts some people off.
·         A bit expensive
·         Only comes in two shades

Overall, I changed my mind about foundations because of the 24k Royal Gold Radiant Foundation. I love how it made my skin smooth and dewy without looking like I have makeup on. It just blended well with my skin. I highly recommend this foundation because not only did it made my skin look radiant but it also protected my skin from UV rays

  4. I can see why SPF is so important to you considering the sunny/hot climate you live in! This foundation sounds great and I love the 'gold' film over the foundation to begin with, very pretty :)

  10. I haven't worn foundation in years as well. Back when I first started wearing makeup for real I wore foundation almost everyday. But now, I only do concealer and powder as my base makeup. But on bad skin days it does take a bit of concealer to do the trick. I might consider getting a foundation for those days. This sounds really nice! i like how it has spf as well! That's always a bonus.

  12. It looks so gorgeous though haha, such a fancy name for a foundation but I love it! Think it looks so lovely too and awesome that it blends so well with the rest of the skin. Too bad though it only comes in two shades giving that the majority of those who uses foundation need at least 10 + different!

Hope you're having a lovely week! Xx

  13. I am like you, I prefer BB creams to foundations, but sometimes, with a good review I may give a foundation a chance. This one, with SPF and giving a dewy finish, I would like to try, but coming in only 2 shades... anyway, would like to try it!

  15. I usually prefer BB cream too because foundation are heavy on the face, and it's too obvious when you are wearing one. This one looks lightweight but with decent coverage, I'm amazed!

Everyone's been raving about Althea PH but I haven't checked them out yet, to be honest.

  16. I really like the packaging of this! Although, I am not very keen on branching out with foundations, unless mine gets discontinued haha! Great review x
