New Girl

Dress: Free People | Shoes: Ted Baker: Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Watch: Swatch | Choker: Bershka
Lips: Tarte Amazonian Lip Butter in Plummy Rose

As I mentioned in my previous post I took a break for a while because I had to do some major adjustments both in my life and my work. Everything was new to me and it was quite overwhelming initially but as I got used to the day to day demands and schedule of this new phase in my life, I suddenly felt more at ease. So now I am back, alive and still kicking (and a few pounds heavier than the last post).

It was a big adjustment because it was a whole new job description. My previous job and my current one may be in the same industry but operates on different aspects. I had to learn so many new things and drop whatever I learned from my previous job (some are still useful but most of it I had to let go). I struggled with my first few days especially with the new surroundings and schedule but now that I am already a month into the job, I now know what works better for me how I can manage everything that is on my plate. I am now able to prioritize and do my work with less supervision (and mistakes). I can now say I am enjoying my new job.

Nothing is ever easy at first but if you keep an open mind and an open heart, you will slowly learn what works better for you. And then you find yourself enjoying what you are doing. The people around you also helps. I guess I am lucky that the people I am working with share the same work ethics as I do and they really give me a helping hand whenever I need it. Being the new person always has its downs but the people I work with has accepted me with open arms so I am really grateful for that.

It wasn't a smooth start for me in the new job because I really struggled especially on my first day. I was comparing this new workplace to my previous one and I felt like I made a bad decision. I hated the new workplace. Everything is so Jurassic (like big and old); from the photocopiers to the printers and shredders. Everything is so outdated. I wanted to go back. But slowly I realized that though this new workplace has its disadvantages nothing is too bad anyway. Things may be old and gigantic but they work and perform their purpose so what is there to complain about? I am probably just being a brat.

I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go when it comes to this new job but I am liking it (especially the fact that I am super busy I don't even realize the time). I like that I am gaining new skills and I am learning new things. But let's see how long I will last. I hope I won't get bored easily (which is essentially the problem of every millenial).

  10. I think all job changes are like that, and its natural to think the grass suddenly isn't greener! Good luck, you'll be a natural in no time.

  11. Loved your dress, bag and shoes, all so beautiful and with a romantic feel! I also liked the necklace, with little stars! I am glad you are back after being overwhelmed at the new job, but new "anything" is like that. I am glad that after a month you are now better there! Hope you have a very lovely weekend! You do look very beautiful, I loved your pictures!

  13. Yes! That is actually what I was looking for. I don't want to come to work at 8AM and just wait for the entire day to end. I want to come to work and not feel the time passing. And before I know it, it is time for me to go home. It is tiring but I like it.

  14. Thank you! The romantic look is exactly what I was going for.

You are right. Everything new is overwhelming and daunting at the onset but once you settle in, you will feel better. I am still in the "settling in" phase because I am still learning.

  15. You are right. I had an impression of this new workplace prior to my transfer and I thought things would be "greener" but after a few days, I thought it isn't "greener" after all. It is actually just the same. Both have their pros and cons and when you weigh them out the result is the same. But I am enjoying the things I am learning in my new workplace.

  16. Thank you dear! Yes, I was scared at first because I knew nothing about the workplace and what the job really entails and it was scary. I was thinking I made a huge mistake. But after a while, when I finally got a grip on how things work, I started to feel at ease. I am still learning a lot but in time, I know I will feel settled.

  17. I hope so too! But I am not forcing myself because I know I still have loads to learn. In time, I know I will. Thank you!
