Little Red Dress

Dress: H&M | Inner: Forever 21 | Shoes: Dries Van Noten
Choker: Forever 21 | Belt: SM Dept. Store
Lips: The Face Shop Melting Lip Crayon in Red Nouveau

It is amazing how your style and taste in clothes changes over the years. I was never a fan of the color red and I always thought I looked too skinny in red. But when I saw this in H&M I could not resist. I contemplated hard if I should get it. I didn't try this in store. I was carrying it as I was looking around thinking hard if I should buy it. Alas, I went to the counter and just went for it. Surprisingly, I received so many compliments when I wore this dress and everyone seems to think this is my color. Now I think I like the color red - this shade of red to be exact.

I don't own many red clothing pieces. I probably have like 5; 2 of which are striped tops that are predominantly white. I stayed away from red as much as I could because I could not find the exact shade that suits me. And then I found this. Aside from the lovely cherry blossom print (which is my favorite thing in the world), this cherry red shade looks lovely against my skin tone. It is kind of ironic considering that I am warm-white (I have olive undertones and my veins are predominantly green). Supposedly this shade of red better complements cool-white (with pink undertones and veins are predominantly blue). Regardless if I am warm or not, I think I found my new favorite dress.

  5. That dress is so gorgeous indeed! Haha I avoided red for so long too, but I'm happy that I found my way back to the color, because it's such a pretty shade. And love your hairdo to it, so so pretty! Xx

  6. I love this red dress! You look so gorgeous! This print and the color definitely suits you. I find that sometimes when things are supposed to fit a certain skin tone and not others, that doesn't always apply. I do agree that finding the perfect shade of red is difficult. Red is such a finicky color sometimes! But when you get the perfect one, it makes such a statement!
I also really love the way you styled your hair! It goes with the cherry blossom print so well

  7. Very cute dress! I avoided and still avoiding any clothing that are color red. It's not really my color. But I do like how it looks on other women :)
